October 2 Continued

Well, the previous post showed Bryce and Tegan having a relaxing afternoon in the pool, which was a good thing to prepare them for the night that lay ahead.

Once they finished there, it was time to start our "Night of Competition". Not really as exciting as it might sound. In fact, it is not that different than most Thursday nights with the addition of a football game.
Robert headed out to Desert Ridge Jr. High to watch Chase "in goal" for his school soccer game at 4pm. He did great by all reports, despite having one goal get past him, and getting kicked in the forehead by one of the players. He is grateful for his long hair even more now. It hides the goose-egg on his forehead pretty well. He had a lot of great saves, but they lost 1-0.

In the meantime, I was trying to help Ally complete homework before her soccer practice at 5pm. Once we dropped her off, it was a rush to get to Karai's football game, that also started at 5pm.
Bryce, Tegan, and I managed to make it to the football game by the start of the 2nd quarter and they scored their first touchdown shortly after we arrived. They even decided to kick the extra point instead of trying for two points like they normally do. Unfortunately, Karai didn't get to kick them.
However, he did have 2 perfect on-side kicks. The first one, I missed, he kicked it in the air about 12 yards right into the arms of his teammate, so they regained possesion. The second one, I did see, he dribbled it along the ground for about 12 yards and again his team was able to recover it and regain possesion.

Overall they had a great game and won 20-0.
Bryce and Tegan loved it because they got to go to the snack bar. Aren't the simple things the best?
We waited for Karai to change clothes so we could head off to our next destination. We even managed to make it home before Robert and Chase had to leave for his AYSO soccer game at 8pm. The rest of us headed over in time for the game to start and Karai had practice there at 8pm as well.
Robert had to leave to go to his own basketball game at 8:30pm.
Sadly, the batteries in my flash died so I didn't get too many shots of Chase, but he really likes the ones where he looks like a blur anyway.
He was "keeper" for the first quarter, and again had some great saves. later he did well as a forward and midfielder. He had a great game overall, and they won 3-1.
We made it home around 10 pm and it was showers and off to bed so that we could get up and do it again on Friday.
Well, not entirely, we didn't have any games to be at.
